Dear members, dear friends,

Would you like to volunteer to participate in our project aid Tohoku direct disaster to enable them to resume a normal life?

We are looking for healthy volunteers to help local people trying to return to their homes, helping in the clean-up and transportation of debris and other tasks, such as the transport of goods, etc..

As you know, victims of the disaster are not wealthy people, but mainly families of farmers, fishermen and artisans, living in a rural area with an aging population and the majority of whom lost everything to date (family, friends, housing, all material goods).

Program:

From Saturday, November 5 ~ Sunday, November 6

Friday, November 4th meeting at 22:00 near Kudanshita Station Exit 1,

  • 23:00 Bus Departure by bus (journey by night)
  • Arrival at Ishinomaki around 6:30 Saturday morning.
  • 8:30 gather in work teams.
  • 9:00 Start reconstruction aid
  • 17:00 Hot bath, dinner & relax...
  • Overnight stay
  • Sunday morning reconstruction aid.
  • 14:00 Depart Ishinomaki
  • 22:00 (around) arrive in Tokyo

Equipment:

  • Workwear (overalls, or work clothes that ‘can take a beathing’)
  • Waterproof clothing (trousers and waterproof wind parka)
  • Rubber boots (or sturdy shoes)
  • Clothes
  • Rubber gloves
  • Goggles
  • Protective mask
  • Hat or helmet
  • Mattresses and sleeping bag for the night (we sleep on the floor)
  • Minimum water 2 liter (temperatures can get high especially in Summer)
  • Food for 2 meals (ramen, onigiri, snack ...), hot water will be available
  • Sunscreen
  • Mosquito/fly repelant

Contribution:

All participants are required to participate to overall costs for the trip:

  • Normal: 7500 yen per person
  • Reduced: 5000 yen per person (applies to students, and unemployed persons)
  • + 1400 yen compulsory volunteer insurance (not applicable for persons who already participated

Payments are made on the departure date, at the meeting point.
